996tt vs 997tt

Can anyone comment on the major and subtle differences between the 996 tt and 997tt? I know several people on here who have or have had both cars. If possible please touch on: everday driveability, handling, acceleration and just the overall package. Thanks

IMO, I have had 3 996TT and just got rid of my 997TT(3100 miles) As far as the feel of the car; I think its totally different. The speed is definetly more(lower end) But the top end(5000rpm+) was the same IMO as the 996TT. The car seems to feel lighter although its not. The interior is more refined but at the same time filled with too much **** that makes you confused and starts getting you thinking that you are driving a 7 series BMW. The 997TT is definetly better for the street and everyday use, but IMO lacked that soul of the 996TT. There was something about the 997TT that was stale to me and seemed to do everything with no effort at all. The 996TT seemed to give me more of that raw feel of driving a Porsche turbo.

Deja vu.
Sounds like the age old comparison of the 996tt to the 993tt.

Yeah, one day these manufacturers will use progress to move us right into the passenger seat. We'll literally be going for a ride. Of course, being bored to sleep will work well on long trips.

The new Lexus LS parallel parks the car for you, what's next??
