It all depends on what your expectations are. The 997TT is certainly the absolute best everyday supercar.

Super car it is. It does everything right and wilkl do for a long time. But one of my main reasons for switching was the fact that I felt I was NOT enjoying the car unless I was driving like an animal. The more I drove the car normal, the more I did NOT like it. Yes, I know it rides great and goes fast; But after driving my friends 360, I fell in love. I know the 997TT will **** all over that car in the performance dept; But the feel of the 360 along with the lines were enough to pull me away from the 997TT.
I wish they made the 997TT MUCH more radical than what it is. They should have thrown a big tail along with those massive air intakes that were on some old spyshots I saw. I know its different than the 996TT, but IMO, not worth all that extra dough to step up. If I get another one I will keep the Ferrari and get a 997TT as a daily driver. IMO, its the best daily you will ever own; but as far as Exotic, I gotta give that to the Ferrari.

BTW, the GT rides better than both of my stock 996 GT3 and Elise w/ Ohlins.
Your name is Bruce Wayne!? That's awesome.

Good post...seems like as DD 997TT would be hard to beat...might as well make it a Tip...why fight it?

actually I am waiting for the paddle shift to come in 08'. As much as I like to manually shift, so far I learned to LOVE the whole F1 thing of the 360. I think the 997TT with the F1 tranny is gonna be out of controll. Lets face it, where can you realy go to enjoy the whole shifting thing on the street. I have been driving a manual turbo for the past 5 years(all 4 of them) IMO, the 6 sp. will be better for a little while and then after time I think you will like the whole F1 thing on the Porsche. I am sure that the Porsche will shift even faster and better than the Ferrari and will be great. I am NOT doubting or downing the TT at all. Its the best car that I ever driven and probally will be. It was made to drive and drive all day and everyday. If the cops were chasing me and I had to run from them I would want to be in the TT over any other car there is. The Porsche is an engineering marvel and will run forever. But on the other hand it just lacks a bit of that soul that the 993TT has. They(Porsche) made the new 997TT too good in every dept. The car seems to do everything right and IMO, its to quiet. They put too much sound dampening **** in the car and at the same time took away much of its character.
Like I said, I plan on getting another one in about a year. Its gonna have the x50 package as well as ceramics and that F1 tranny. That should get me around town just fine.

You are so right and i was realizing it today. I have to head over to the twisties for some crazy driving, back end out under boost coming out of a turn and hitting turns fast to appreciate it. Otherwise the car feels normal and too ordinary!

A friend of mine just sold his 996 GT2 and bought a Ford GT. He couldnt be happier with his decision! The GT2 was awesome, no doubt, but the Ford GT just screams race car, something you definitely wont get bored of.

look at it this way: Think of the 997TT as some crazy Ninja sport bike; And think of the Ferrari as some rare chopper. Its different..

I haven't had the pleasue of driving the 997. But I did just get an 02 996 X50 and mod the crap out of it already, and love it. The 997 sounds like my Honda 929 sport bike I had. Just perfect...perfectly boring. So I sold it and picked up an Aprillia RSV Factory V/twin sport bike. It's alive and really fun. My P salesman called me today and told me he has a 997 they just got in. He wants to know if I want to trade up. I think I'll just keep the modded 996 for now. I have no doubt the 997 is a nicer car and someday I'll drive one and say this car makes my 996 feel outdated.
