New Rinspeed 997TT Wheels 20's - Check it Out
#22
Hi Dan,
thanks for your email but I think I'm going to hold off on that GT2 wing. I am forcing myself to be very patient here! I have to wait till TechArt comes out with their GTS Kit.
Please provide better close up of the front end and rear wing as I'm sure you will be able to sell a lot if the quality is good.
thanks again!

Look great, but driver comfort has got to go down the tubes
With 20", the car has got to ride like on 2x8 boards. I know when I drove my M3 with 18" vs my buddy's with 19s", there was a tremendous difference in ride, I can imagine with 20s", the ride has to be horrible. Who would want that for these marginal better looks??

John,
Speaking from first hand experience and have owned the M3, 996TT, and 997TT, I can address your comments.
Regarding the M3 I had the stock 19's and the ride was fine. That was stock as well and not aftermarket.
As for the 996TT, I did go to 19's from 18's and the ride was great.
As for the 997TT, the 19's provided a softer ride then my 20's compared to the M3 from 18's to 19's. But honestly speaking I live in San Francisco and our roads are not the best and I have no problems whatsoever. If I were to do the quarter mile or track, I would of course go back to 19's.
Bottom line is UNLESS you are going to drive really hard or track, then 18 or 19's are the way to go! If you are just cruising and doing a little spirited drive here and there, the oversized wheels are just fine. I can honestly say that as I've owned many cars and have gone up in sizes without much ride sacrifice.

The looks are more than marginal, IMHO. Worth the sacrifice in ride quality. It's a Porsche not a Buick
