Highly doubt that the motor can withstand those power levels even with a rebuild. Are there any reliable 996TTs that make 1k hp?

Ben,

That is awesome man.. Congratulations on all that the power. I'm sure you will surely put it to good use.

BTW, what exhaust are you running? Was that dyno run done with 100 octane?

Yes. More like 1,100 HP. VRAlexanders car, and soon Markski's car as well. My car will be close to 1k HP when I get it back as well.

Treynor, which exhaust + intake systems did you go with?

Mark was telling me about these results yesterday, but I didn't see the dyno sheet until now... Those are some very impressive numbers! Kudos to Protomotive! That ECU flash must have REALLY woke your car up! You made a great choice choosing them!

I'm a bit doubtful on boxer 6 making 1,000 HP reliably more like 600-700RWHP only. You mention only "1" car out of thousands. If you or Markski are not making 1,000RWHP or 1,000BHP than your not making it yet, no point in mentioning something that doesn't exist.

You asked the queston and I gave you the correct answer. Take it or leave it.

Of course internal strengthening and head works is must with any 1khp car. Even my Viper and Supra had to be bored/stroked to get real 1khp+. But the 997TT do seems to be a better platform for higher power.

Stock 997TT + Protomotive ECU tuning + Exhaust + air filters = 509 WHP (!!!) or >600 BHP

Todd also sent me a prelim printout from his next round of mods (cheap, too!). You will not believe your eyes. I certainly couldn't.
Impressive numbers with the simplem mods but I have a newbie question:

Is it normal to have those bumps on the TQ and HP charts? I know those are fairly small but what's smooth vs not-smooth since I believe the goal is for smooth curves.

But it's the same block.

I agree that the VGT turbos allow for more power with simple mods, since they seem to create more boost...but for really BIG power, you'll still have to swap them out and use GT35's or similar like the 996TT use now....plus internal stengthening, better intakes, intercooling, exhaust, tuning, etc...
