ritchieswimwear is infamous around these parts
I am not the biggest fan of dealers, but another argument would be that they nurse a talented newbie along that turns into a great mechanic for their dealership, only to lose them to the local tuner or they start their own business, then your car at the dealer is stuck with someone that was being groomed by that mechanic, there's always 2 sides of a story. Eric, I hope the 1 or 2 guys, making your dealer service great don't leave.

Me too, you wouldn't think we would have to deal with issues like this.

It might have been something stupid, like a bad batch of welding material at the factory that wasn't caught before use. These things happen. I do think the individual dealers should do a lot more to uphold and protect Porsche's reputation by keeping on top of who they sold the cars to and knowing who they need to notify.

I repaired the weld and can tell you there is not enough welds in that spot and or it needs to be a stich weld.

As far as letting me know....I still have not recieved any letter. They are on top of the sale....then it ends.

I wish that was the case with our dealer. The guy that is suppose to be the "man" and I use that term loosely has been there for ever. He has an attitude that goes on for ever as well. He is an orangutan, breaks things, cuts corners....simply he needs to retire. He couldn't figure out a leak nor bleed my clutch in the last TT. I told them 5 times what it was.
<O</O

The stories go on. I could start about the one wherever back probed a harness in a customers 997S said we did it then told the customer I should pay for the harness. Long story short, they lost the sale of my car (997TT) and the customer because he knows otherwise.
<O
My issues is I have hired the UTI guess which is where Porsche trains the new techs. They are of the no common sense era. I am constantly amazed of the old timers that need to retire and the new generations that no nothing or if they do it doesn't go past 1999. These are the best of the best....supposedly. There are exceptions and I am friends with many. But most get the big BUZZ off the stage.

In my world I have to know what they know....then be able to go beyond what is in the books. Something they don't want to do. Unfortunately it also stunts the thought process in general and becomes a race to the next break or who can finance the newest and biggest snap on box. <O

Actually, Stephan was always a good guy in my book but he just got caught up in some unfortunate events.
