I suppose it was RWD...but I'm not so sure.
It even burns a Carrera GT in accelerating...damn!
Would pay to see such a comparison between these two

Interestingly:
RUF CTR "Yellowbird" - The fastest at the time vs. F40, 959 Works etc.

Ruf's cars and mods are crazy expensive, but, you can't argue with the results..They do more with less "claimed" hp and torque then anyone and consistently post the fastest times in comparisons
