Took the 997TT to the track this weekend. Pics
I had the 997TT on the track this weekend during the SECC event at Firebird main track. The day was perfect, sunny and about 70 degrees (sorry to all of you that live in cold places) The last time I had the car on the track it was relatively stock. Now with the added power and suspension upgrades, all I can say is WOW. The car is a BEAST and is so well balanced in every way. For those of you who have not had a chance to get their 997TT on the track, it is a MUST. It is truly hard to realize how well balanced and fun this car is to drive on the street. It is something that must be experienced and realized on the track.

The brakes were perfect! They never faded once with stock pads and fluid. The top speed I hit on the straight was 155-160 MPH and then would dive into turn 1 at about 70 MPH. I found myself braking later and later and never once felt that the brakes had a problem with the task.
<o =""></o>
The suspension was good. We have been testing various different suspension settings and springs over the past few months. We have not fully completed the MOTON setup and are currently running the OEM PASM system with Techart springs. For just lowering springs, they are a must for any car that is driven hard. I was rather impressed with the way the car performed with such a minor suspension MOD. There was no noticeable bump steer and the car just stuck. I was running the stock tires and could have used more aggressive rubber as I felt the tires were the weak link in the overall handling.
<o =""></o>The power was amazing. This engine delivers power almost like a NA car. The acceleration out of the turns was perfect. The turbos spool up so quick that there is power as soon as the throttle is pressed. The power delivery was so smooth there was no abrupt power surge that typically can cause the car to feel uncontrollable and loose. This 997TT engine revs very quickly and the only time I felt like I needed more power was on the long straight away. The straight away is a drag strip and if I had 800 HP on tap, I would have felt like I could have used 900 HP. Other than the desire to have more on the strip, I felt that the car performed flawlessly and I could not be happier with it.
<o =""></o>The greatest thing with the car was I drove it like I stole it all ay at the track. I went through 2 tanks of fuel there and drove it home. I had it washed and drove it out to dinner where the valet parked it in front of the restaurant. Today, my wife took it to go grocery shopping and then to Home Depot where she was able to pack it full of top soil and plants so she could do some gardening. (That was a sight which I will have to post some photos of later) It is truly an amazing car that clearly has many purposes.
Here are a few pick of the car in action

Who was in the passenger seat wiping away tears in pic 4?
You guys have put together an impressive package so far. Can't wait to see what your packages have for the 997TT once R&D is complete (is it ever?).

J/K I am not sure what hand signal that is, maybe he is flashing gang signs. Actually, he owns a GT3 and wanted to learn the line around the track. I had instructed him earlier that day as a passenger in his GT3. <o =""></o>
I have over 5500 miles on the 997TT and all of them have been R&D / test miles. We want to be sure that our products are tested and driven in all conditions and can exceed our customers expectations. There is much more to come for the 997TT. Stay tuned

Nice to see you are actually getting the tires to roll over.. Instead of the usual 1/4mile stuff...
You should bring that beast out to one of our track days...
C'mon you know you want too

I love the picture of the 997TT BEHIND the GT2 Classic!!!! hhahahah (sligh grin)
