Jason,

Wow! You car look so shine, love the color.
I would give that Matrix Micro-Coatings a try, also thank you for the VentureShield information. I didn't see you answer Chris from Cali "How much did the swap cost you?"

ty,

The swap cost me about $800. He didnt charge me for removing the 3M film. It looks absolutely brilliant in the daytime. Barely noticable unless you're looking closely for it. The matrix coating is holding up after driving the P-car in the rain. The water just came right off! I'm definitely impressed! I can tell that maintaining the car is going to be a cakewalk compared with before. Sorry I didn't answer that question before..I thought I did.

And I'll try looking at the film with a polarized sunglasses next time.

Hey Duff, yes, I definitely do like the matrix coating. It's still holding up after a year. I believe they're close to you so you might be able to easily find someone to apply it to yours. It gives an unbelievably deep shine/look to the car's paint finish! On a sunny day I have to wear when looking at my car. Of course you have to get them to detail the car prior to applying the matrix coating meaning polish/buff out the swirl marks.

My front bumper is covered, my entire front hood is covered. Both of my entire front fenders are covered. And a bunch of other places such as door edges, door jambs, fender vent openings, on the outside of the fenders, etc. Hope that clears things up for you.

Jason, did they remove the matrix where you had the new VS installed? Don't you have to was the VS (and not the matrix?).

I'm not sure how they did it. John or BJ would have to explain that. I only know that matrix coating cannot be applied on top of the VS material because it would melt it!

$800 is an awesome price. Would it be possible for me to get some contact information of this place? Last time I was quoted a price for my Lamborghini to be done with 3M was $4000! I'm in Vancouver so it'll make for a nice drive and save a few thousand

Dave DiMinico owns Protective Solutions out of Mass and they install the Venture Shield film. I've used these guys and they do a great job! He's also a distributor for the film so if you're not in the MA/RI/NH area he can put you in contact with his customers which are all across the country and in Canada.

Cool! Great pics. Were you also aware that 3M is on it's 3rd generation of film technology? How old was your old film? From what I was told, it is much thinner and better at handling the different environments.
