Grady, that's an interesting question. I was at MFGCNF (think I still am!) and was debating about the PCCB's. Called my dealer and asked to check if I could still put them on without delaying. He called me back and said the system would accept the change and no delay. It was to be an april build and I now have a checkpoint 8 date of April 14, so I guess it didn't screw it up. You're a month ahead of me though, so I don't think I'd change anything.

gradyex,

What happened was that I ordered my car before going to Europe to test drive the Turbo last spring (do a search for my post about my Opus 911 experience). After I saw all these cars including their options, colors, etc, I made a number of changes to my order. I changed the color from GT silver to Cobalt blue, added a few trim pieces, etc. I came back from Europe and I added the phone module, right after that change was made, the new production date was shown as being 2 months later than originally intended. My salesperson thinks that it was more of a cascading effect of having made a bunch of changes which just happened to coincidence with having added the phone module in showing a delayed production date. I was NOT happy that day but there was nothing I could do. So now to this day, I try to warn folks about not making too many changes up to a certain point.

Sounds like good advice guys. From here on out its a done deal as far as options go. I would hate to sell my 997S earlier than I need to! Cheers.

Not necessary to call the dealer, you just dial a number and talk directly with the operator. I did this 2-3 times a week and it was fun especially watching it go through the shipping process and finally PDI. With Porsche you have to go through your sales rep. Is there another way to track your car guys without the middleman?
Build date does not change. Its the completion date that will eventualy change. My friend was told by his dealer tha CGA is an option that is done after the car is built and its just the logistics of them arranging it.

Hopefully they will get to it the same time they do the logo paint on the back. I can't change anything at this point so what happens is out of my hands.

Man, I saw a GT Silver TT at the dealer a bit ago, what an awsome color, so much deeper than artic(which is good too). Don't change a thing. There are several of us getting cars built that last week March period.

I also considered PCM in leather, but not for $2200.00, thats ridiculous. Another option was covering the back of the seat with leather but my neices tag along quite a bit and they would just get scuffed up in no time. I know I will have to be carefull with the inner sill parts release in leather as that can get scuffed up too. I guess what I am looking to acheive is to give the car a touch of that "hand made" look that my full leathered 997S lacked...........No I am not getting the car from Fremont Porsche, as a matter of fact I dropped in that dealership Sunday for the car meet that Alex announced last Friday. The salesman seemed polite. Aparently there is 1 spot left for an 07 allocation that is still available if your interested? They had a 2005 997S that was all tricked out alla "sharkworks" in Arctic silver that was awesome.....no pricetag on the car and I didn't even inquire. Sweet looking car!!!
Thanks for coming and on the wait... it'll be over soon. You are going to love having a Torque-monster so pat yourself on the back! Some of the options are pretty crazy, I know... but after about 5 seconds of driving it you won't care/mind too much about the options that's for sure

That will be an exiting time C4S surgeon. I will take plenty of pictures of interior and exterior. I made the change in color because I figure I am spending that much money on a car and I should choose the color I really want regardless of price. GT Silver will make the car more attractive for resale but I do plan to keep this car much longer than my 997S (thats what we all say I know). Anyhow if anyone is interested in my 997S, its listed on cars.com.

Alex, it was a pleasure meeting you. I have a hunch it won't be the last time!
