Well I just got my vent in today and waiting to get some time to install it, but in the meantime anybody that gets theirs should definitely post pics of the install.

Does this vent help the car in any way when installed on a non GT3 bumper? (Besides bling?)

Since no one answered my earlier post I am going to give it a shot. The vent can catch water and bugs so if you get stranded you won't die. Hopefully this helps.... (JOKE to some who may get offended.)

Aloha

turbo'S' is infamous around these parts
After speaking it through with body shop and reseller I have decided to not fit the GT3 vent. IMO it will cheapen the cars look with the other mods that are going on.
With the GT3 style front bumper it looks fantastic but I think I like the cleaner lines of the turbo front without it. If it were more like the new GT2 style or Ruf RGT style and integral rather than tack on I think it would be different.
Thats my take on it.
Any one want to by a GT3 vent?

Nope, there is nothing in there to damage.

Stephen,
Is there a performance benefit for doing this mod?

No benefit without a GT3 bumper, really looks cheap on a TT, plus it's irreversable. A supra, maybe. Probably the single worst mod imo.

I would imagine that if it helps flow across the 3rd radiator in the GT3/RS then it should do the same for any other 997 with a 3rd radiator.

Not really. On the GT3 with the raditor mounted the way it is helps that. But that is all.
