997 Turbo Avalible - Pre Owned
the car is now sold guys, but thanks for the feedback, on a side note, I would have like to offer a better deal (and I never claimed that it was a steal) but I did not have very much to work with. the wholesale bid was very strong.
Is it me, or did he never really address the issues raised by the other members? (RE: 5K off MSRP, why not just sell at Auction Price to forum members to begin with, etc).
Doesn't do much for credibility IMO - just address the issues and gain the credibility for next time, otherwise....<o></o>

It's amazing that someone from a dealership would approach the most concentrated porsche audience he could find in such poor form. I'm sure that I'm not overstating the cumulative experience this forum has with p-cars. I'd love to get feedback from that dealership to get their position. I wonder if he was hung out to dry by a sales manager or if he thought that he would log on to the bunch of bumpkins that we are and wow us with his fabulous deal and save the poor car from wholesale. Let this be a lesson to sales people. Come correct. None of us are dying to overpay. None of us are impressed with rookie sales techniques.
OK guys. I thought I addressed that with my last post, but I will elaborate. as far as 5K off on a new one, I think that is a great deal on a turbo, and one should jump at the opportunity. I wish I could have offered the car at a better price, but because of the Wholesale bid (it's not going to auction) I could not. as far as selling it to a 6speeder at the "auction/wholesale price" goes, the entire point of selling a car to a customer would be to get more for the car and there should not be anything wrong with that. I was literally offering the car at a minimal profit. I never claimed the car was a "great deal" , but instead an opportunity for someone to pick up a Turbo that might otherwise have to wait on an order. I never meant to offend, nor do I think you are a bunch of "bumpkins" or anything of the kind. I have the highest respect for everyone on the forum. as the dealership that bought the car has it sold to a customer (I Believe) I will not disclose the price out of courtesy to them, but be assured it was very close to the price I listed it for. (If any of you with turbo's are looking to sell/trade and would like to know the market, them PM me and I will be glad to share the info on the 3 that I have traded for)
Oh and jaymoney, I always try and be as professional and straightforward as possible -- my 5+ yrs selling P cars and nearly 10 yrs in sales has taught me this. I was simply making it known to the forum that for a few days that the car was available.

I haven't visited this Forum for a long while, but since I'm interested in purchasing another TT, I thought I'd check in and see what the latest buzz is about the 997TT.
And then I saw this thread! Impossible to let this go by without a comment.
The dealer says the MSRP on the car was approx. 134K and that he wants to make a "minimal profit" by selling it for 132K. I don't know what minimal profit means but this implies that he bought the car back from the original owner for something close to 132K, way over the original dealer invoice?
Am I missing something here? Does this make any sense?
