Here's a true story about trying to outrun the cops.
In the mid 80's, a young exec at a certain software company in Redmond, Washington was driving to work on the freeway in his sports car. IIRC, it was a Porsche. He was flagged for speeding but instead of pulling over, he outran the cops, got off the freeway at the work exit, drove into the residential neighborhood near work, ditched the car on a side street inside the labyrinth of streets, and walked to work.
A few hours later, the cops showed up to work. They found him in a meeting at work and performed a felony arrest: with guns drawn, they burst into the room, arrested and cuffed him, and led him out to the awaiting cruiser taking him to jail. He was not a US citizen and needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience.
No, the cops were not driving Turbos.
