chris-not me-have never taken the turbo into manhattan. for that, i take the cayenne. i can definitely say that anyone who buys the red turbo from erik is going to get a beautiful looking car. i have a beige interior, which contrasts well with the red. my last porsche before the turbo was a black (like justin) 997c4s, preceeded by three variations of grey (c2, c4s, and 996tt). the color of the red turbo reminds me of my first carrera, an 87 targa, which i loved, and should have kept. probably also because the interior of the 997 is getting back to the classiness and distinctiveness of the older carreras, something which, i think, the 996's were getting too far off course on. anyways, if you were going to buy any car from eric, i would say that the red one will always have you looking at your car one more time.

Just trading it in at the dealer, it's got 63k miles. I tried a while back when I had the oem aerokit/x73 setup on the car, but had little interest, so I put it back to bone stock.

makes sense chris-too much effort to sell it privately, and with the dealer, you'll obviously save the sales tax.

Hey Don...the problem I had with red was that I was constantly pulled over by the cops...I had always heard that they attract more attention but didn't believe it until I got one and then spent all my time in traffic court. Also, I found that unless very well taken care of (which just isn't me)...the red paint fades and looks off. But I did have a 3000GT in red not a Porsche so maybe Porsche paint is better. Doc's car looks great in red.

Another issue I had was that it just attacted too much attention for my comfort level...I know these cars are made to attract attention but there is just something different about red.

I don't know...I have said it before...I am stuck in my paradigms...to me red=Ferrari and Porsche=black.

HI Justin

I had a red 993 coupe for 4 years,, no cops, no tickets, no attention and I had the black cab for 3.75 years, no cops, no attention.

I really dont think it matters,, of course, I am 56 and when they see me, they pass by... Maybe its age,, lol

I loved my triple black cab but it was a lot of work. Seemed to be more work in maintaining a dust free black car then the red coupe.

Besides, I wanted a change from black. After all,, if I got another black car, my neighbors and friends wouldnt know i had a new car... The average person just sees color,, not coupe or cab with the top up..looks the same to them..

I do like white and originally order the speed yellow BUTchickened out. I d love a SY car someday.

Do you get into the city? I am staying with the family at the Manhattan Club on 7th and 56th... Great timeshare,, only one in the city and its doubled in value since I bought it.. Probably the only timeshare in the USA (maybe the Donatello in SF) that has made money for early-on buyers.

Don

Don't get me wrong...red is really sweet...I just prefer black personally.

I am in the city a fair bit...let me know when you are in town...

I actually got a bunch of mailers for the Manhattan Club when they were opening but the timing was not right for me.

The Red Turbo came in...

But it sold right after it rolled off the truck. I delivered it to it's happy new owner yesterday. The car looks great! If you still want to see pics, e-mail me, since I can't seem to upload anything from here.
