racing + street legal tires for 997 TT

Hi,

I'm looking for racing tires for the track to fit my 997 TT
I was going to go with the Yokohama ADVAN A048 but they're not available in 305 30 19 to fit the back wheels. Any other suggestion?
What I liked about the Yokohamas was the ability to use them on the street. I can fir the car the night before, drive to the track, and get back home.
Let me know,

Vincent

MPSC's and Pirelli Corsa's are on tire rack.

Discount tire direct has the Nitto Invo (never heard of it)

i would be cautious about using competition tires until you log more track time. the problem with race tires is that the breakaway limits (ie. when your tire lose adhesion) are higher and there is less feedback when you are at the limit ... so breakaway is sudden and there is less time to react or correct. many of the race schools (eg. skip barber's formula neon cars) use street tires because they are easier to learn on.

if you are serious about tracking your tt, get a set of 18" wheels and good street tires (eg. re050 are on sale at tirerack) to learn on. btw, tight courses and skidpads are tough on tires so it's good to have a spare set that you can chew up. move to race tires that are forgiving like toyo ra1 (also suitable for commuting to the track) when you are ready.

Nitto is popular in amongst the asian import car and drag race community. btw, Nitto has the Invo listed as a street tire on their corporate website.

I am a HUGE fan of the 19" Michelin Pilot Sport Cup setup from the GT3. These tires are still predictable cold unlike most of the R-compound tires and they perform fantastic on the track for up to 50 heat cycles.
