$1200 is just the deposit. It could be less, it also could be more. Not sure what my limit is but I know I don't want one that bad. I didn't order my car but i'm not sure I would have even considered/thought about including this item on the order. I don't understand what the big deal is with Porsche not making this available at a reasonable cost.

$1,200 is pretty funny. I'm sure they would not charge you that much (but knowing porsche, you never know). Anyway, just looked at my order and it costs $293.

I have it coming on my slate / black car. If you need a VIN I'd be glad to do what I can once I get the car to help you get it.

And yes, it would be nice if the dealer could point all this stuff out. If you ordered a lot of leather it does tie everything together nicely. That was actually one of the nice things about waiting so long for my car. I had a LOT of time to familiarize myself with ALL the available options. Had I been able to get a car immediately I'm sure I would have missed something.

Chris, thanks.
Parts guys said he ordered one for 996 year ago and it was $800.00. I'm not willing to give them a blank check and wait for the price. I'll have to do without or go another route.

Well the facts on getting this part are pretty much what you all said. Someone was kind enough to loan me their VIN # (thank u again) and with that I gave it to the parts department. They didnt know how much it would be and quoted 12 weeks to get the item, all they took was a credit card and said it wont be more than $1000, the parts guy thought about $500 but I guess it'll be a surprise

Has anyone received these yet when ordering after the fact from their dealer? How long did it take and how much was it? Did you need the Vin# of one that had it from the factory?

Yeah I need one in black. It is not the logo as much that I want it is the missing stitching on the storage cover which makes it look unfinished as this thread said earlier.

Ditto - I tried to get Porsche to build my car with the stitching sans crest or logo -- and you can imagine their response

I ordered my car with the turbo logo cover in natural gray leather if anyone needs the VIN

I had a VIN from a car with the fuse panel cover in natural grey. Initially I was told that they'd have to charge me $900 deposit to even order it. I declined. But, I had forgotten that I spoke with another dealership about getting this panel and unknowingly to me, they ordered it anyways. When it arrived, they had no idea how much to charge me because Porsche hadn't sent them an invoice yet. A couple months later, they finally charged me $180 for that panel which costs $140 from the factory. On another occasion, I ordered the gear shift trim in leather which costs $430 from the factory but $180 from the dealership. So, I guess prices vary. I also ordered the dome light cover in leather too. Mine came without stitching whereas the factory option comes with stitching. That's been my experience so far but one thing for sure about these orders is that they will take a LONG time to get!
