I did not notice much difference between my factory 19s, and my TechArt 20s. I did, however, notice a big seat-of-the-pants difference when going back from my 20" TechArts to my 19" DyMags. But overall, I do not think there is a big difference between factory 19s and after-market 20's for street use. In spite of all these old-school predictions of performance disaster . . .

I put 20's on

They look much better then the stock wheels. The stock ones always looked dirty. Ride is not as good but if you are not going to track the car who cares. Looks much better, still goes faster then I can drive it.

I always equated it to putting 19" on the 996TT which seemed to be very hated on at the beginning, but after a couple of years it seemed to be the norm and most people either came around or got used to it. I think it is only natural for most people to upgrade at least one inch in diameter when changing to aftermarket wheels. Sure, performance may be slightly downgraded, but on the street most people don't drive hard enough to notice the difference. People seem to equate 20s with "bling" but I think that is just a perception because of the stigma caused by the rappers affiliation with that number. Take that stigma away and its just like anyone else upgrading one inch in diameter.

Someone please chime in about the 4X4 look. Will the 20's give the car a "lifted" look? I also am thinking of doing the 20in. wheels but I do not want to lower the car.

Thanks

Dudes, what I'm really interested in how it affects the suppleness of the ride when on normal shock setting - don't want anything too harsh.

Dont find any problem with 20"s on standard setting. Roads are awful here but no complaints from me. IMO the 19"s look to small for the arches. Standard setting in 997tt seems softer than standard 997 which I think helps.

Turbo'S' is your car lowered? I love your wheels and they are definitely a possible choice for me. Thanks for your time!

Car is not lowered but it may be that Euro cars are lower than North American cars. I have noticed a few pictures of cars from the states that look higher set. May be that the driveways are typicaly steeper than here?

I'd preferably run an 18" on track so for everyday use, a 19 and 20 are just fine. The feel between 19 and 20 is a lot less noticable than going from 18 to 19 imho.

To be honest it really isn't much different than OEM 19". I put around 3000 miles on my car with various 20" wheels and my wife didn't even once complain about the ride.
