twnj is infamous around these parts
This seems to be the popular one but not sure I like all the wire cutting and soldering.

1. unbelievable, lighters are alive with ignition off...never will understand utility of that. 2. Fuse box under dash left side, remove cover. 3. There is a diagram of fuses and their uses attached to lid of fuse box. You can chose the fuse hole you like. 4. I chose F5 which is empty because that slot is for an automatic transmission which I don't have. 5. Just use one of the fuse connectors available at Radio shack and attach red wire of VI direct wire power adaptor to this fuse connector. 6. Next trick is to find a suitable place for the ground. You can use any ground-screw under the dash. I found the brown wire going into the clutch switch (under the dash) just on the side of the steering column and spliced into it. This was the ground wire for that clutch switch. 7. Incidentally, this fuse hookup is one hell of a lot simpler than going into the roof switch which has been discussed on this board earlier. The wire coming from the V1 easily slides under the material adjacent to left or right side of the windshield depending on which visor you mount V1. Driving a tt and choosing whether to go V1 for me was a no brainer. Also I have tested the new 9500i passport against my V1 and there is no comparison. The V1 goes off always much earlier, in some cases even as much as a 1/16 mile sooner.

I also installed the concealed remote display and set that unit on my steering column just to the left of the digital clock reading..
Works nicely there. The radar unit itself is on the right sunvisor all the way to the right.

Not sure what you mean about pictures. You just look under the dash to the left and you will see a fuse box. It would be more trouble for me to photo that with proper lighting than it would be for you to look under the dash with a light. Once the fuse box is open, find F5 using the chart. This is live only with key on. There are many more slots. Easy to check, just use your "on" V1 and turn the key on and off. You just have to get under the dash and do these things. Trust me, once you get under the dash and remove the fuse box lid, things are easy. Finding a ground is the only hard part. If you look back on this board, say 3-4 months ago, a board member photographed the ground screw he used. Name is gradyex www.rennteam.com (saturday Jan 13 2007 at 10:00am). gradyex is good and very knowledgeable, he goes through a lot of trouble to help fellow tters and always provides excellent advice. Also at bottom of pages www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=308831&an=0&page=0

I did not like this idea of the ground screw (gradyex shows a picture of it) or couldn't find one that wasn't huge, that is, one involved with the steering column, so chose the brown wire on the switch at the end of the clutch rod. The live wire coming into the clutch switch is green. This switch shuts off the cruise control when you put your foot on the clutch when using the cruise control. Doesn't hurt a thing to splice into it's ground wire. Find another if you don't like this one. However, good luck, I was lucky to find this one. Look under the dash, you will see it.
You could send gradyex a private request for the phots of fuse box and ground wire.....I know he will be glad to email his photos.
