a stupid question perhaps but without bumping up the boost, does the car actually produce more hp by dumping 100 octane instead of 93?

ur street tires will kill ur ET. u either at a minimum need BF goodrich drad radials or 17 inch rims and mickey thompson street drag radials 275/40/17.
that is how evoms is getting 1.5 sec. 60 ft. launches. this is the way to do it.
good luck,
markski

It certainly does - the ECU uses (among other things) the knock sensor to determine how much timing advance to run. Turbo cars frequently will run a bit of ignition retard on pump gas because of knock; thus, using higher octane gas will allow more timing before the onset of knock, and thus produce more power.

The effect is of course more pronounced on a car where the boost has been raised.

True enough - I have the PCCB brakes and I was led to understand that you can't fit 18" or 17" wheels over those brakes, so I'm stuck with street tires.
