all grounds are covered, I found myself a true porsche factory mechanic to work on my whip this week. I did inspect the evom headers before install and they look to be of good quality. Let's see in a few days...

Did you get the ceramic coating on the headers? Could that be a cause for a leak?
Also in regards to the ceramic coating the claim is that the heat from the exhaust gas is kept in the gas stream to a greater degree and less heat is transferred to the header itself. Would this cause the temp in the turbo to go up or down? This is my first post... Just picked up a 997TT tip. I have already done the ECU and Milltek exhaust. Trying to decide on the headers... Worth it or not? Ceramic or not?<O</O

nope, i went with the regular stainless header. we are 90% sure that the o ring gasket was not properly aligned on the driver size before bolting on the header to the turbo. I should have a confirmed answer by Thursday fellas. Hang tight...

Ceramic will make the the s/s last longer, Iam in the aircraft industry and all the new turbine parts I see have this coating

shup shup shup shup!?!??! Hellz yea..i just picked up my car during lunch today. All leaks are fixed as the first installer royally ****ed up and blew 2 gaskets to pieces. The car feels insanely quick today with the cool temps and I was able to finally get to feel how this car reacts to headers. The boost definitely comes on sooner and kicks MUCH harder. Would love to see how it runs with 100 octane..... but then my oem clutch may just hand in the white flag and surrender under sport mode..ahhahahahahahhahaha

sorrie mate...u wanna play..u gotta pay..hahahahhaha i cant wait to try on sport mode on my commute home later..... it is just amazing how well this 997tt respond to simply these minor bolt on mods.... I ran my friend's stock 997tt with the leak and i was easily 8 cars ahead (20mph roll on to 140 mph) under normal mode.

I don't see how anyone car f*ck up a header install on this car. Headers don't get any easier than this. This is child's play compared to having installed long tubes on a '78 Trans Am with a 6.6l stuffed into the bay, an E36M3 where most of the bolts need to be turned 1/16 of a turn while constantly flipping an open end socket wrench over and over for about 2 hours, my 944 turbo where the front cross member needs to be dropped, and my 01 5.3l pickup where you have to lay across the engine to access the back bolts on the rear cylinders.

****..your guess is as good as mine. If i had a lift and the appropriate tools, i wouldve done it myself and save the $$$. The one gasket on the driver's side was completely fried and torn as the top bolt to the turbo was not even tight and torque properly.... anyway Im glad that all behind me now... I must say, the car really haul *** now

Oh yeah Lou, I've done headers on a firebird/TA, now that's challenging!
