I would like for Porsche to race test their version of DSG before giving it to us consumers. I don't think any of the 997GT3 RSR's are using this technology, right?

I know DSG handles upshifts very well, since the next higher gear is preselected, but how well does it execute downshifts? e.g., if you're accelerating in third gear and DSG has fourth preselected and ready to go, then you deside to brake and downshift, how quickly will DSG respond and perform the downshift? TIA.

Haha. I love the "purist's" response. Why not? If you don't want it don't just don't buy it.

Rob, downshifts are quick and seemless too

If you have the change try a GTI DSG, because everybody has its own taste but I can say after driving stick for 27 years, I really like the GTI's DSG

I am not saying it is perfect, but what is, and I am sure that if Porsche comes out with a Dual Clutch system my guess is that it will be even better than the GTI DSG

I personally do not like the TIP, but with a 3 hour commmute every day a stick is not that much fun either.

Mike
