Don't forget to get option CDZ - Gear shift trim and definitely get DAD - gear lever/hand brake lever in aluminum if you want those stitching to be deviated. It's the only way otherwise they'll be a mismatch.

I say go with CF trim pieces because it will provide a nice contrast.

my order will be less complicated:
997 TT sport chrono
natural leather, guards red.
Crests in seat
thicker leather steering wheel.
good luck with that laundry list, i do not envy those decisions.

Thanks for the info: In another of your posts you said an alternative to DAD is ECA. Do you know if ECA comes with deviating stitching with 09991?

When I spoke with Porsche while visiting them in Germany, they'd indicated that the only way to get deviated stitching for the gear shift boot and e-brake handle is to get the option DAD, period. No idea why that's the case.

Are you planning to keep the car long term? If so the detail you desire will be priceless. if you turn the car over quickly the detail will be costly. Best of luck, Can't wait to see the pictures someday.

Thank You. I have owned many porsches since my first in 1978 including 993, 996, & 997 Turbos. I have been fairly creative but never to this extent. Reading your posts, you seem very knowledgeable about options. I appreciate the help. Instead of the XPA Steering wheel, do you know anything about Tech Art steering wheels? They have one that looks great on their web site.

Sounds like you really like Porsches. I feel the same way too. The 997TT is my first Porsche and hopefully many more will follow in the years to come. I've made it a passion to follow everything related to Porsches thus so far.

I made the mistake of ordering XPA before I came across the Techart steering wheel which to me was love at first sight! I managed to get one for my car.

Contact Mark at CEC Automotive to see about a local retailer in your area to get one ordered. It's a bit tricky to get it made right.

Mine is the type 1 with colored leather (natural grey) and the shiny carbon fiber (instead of matte). Also asked to leave the Techart logo (on the bottom) off and make sure they use the same color stitching too.

Here's what it looked like when I first got it

The sides are nice and thick!

Another version (type 2) with multifunction controls. Notice the Techart logo on the bottom which I left off mine

Many Thanks Atomic80

That is the wheel I was talking about. I will call Mark to see about ordering it soon. I may order the yellow stitching on it but am worried about keeping the stitching clean. I work in a dirty enviroment so hands are not always the cleanest. Thanks for the tips on ordering it. Does Tech Art carbon Fiber match Porsche's.

It's not an exact match but with the shiny clear coat finish, it comes pretty close to having the same OEM look as the Porsche CF pieces. I'm satisfied.

As for the stitching getting dirty, well, I guess that'd give you an excuse to wash your hands before getting in the car, right?

Hopefully I have learned my lesson and will keep this one. I paid a deposit on a 997 Turbo in March of 2005, Paid 146,300.00 for it in August of 2006 and sold it for 131,000.00 in November of 2006. Now it's June 2007 and I am ordering another for deliver in March of 2008. How smart am I.

My opinion... Your option list is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long...

You don't need all that crap. It's like putting **** on a bull.

Spending more money doesn't neccessarily make the car nicer.. Sometimes it just makes the car gaudy. Less = More....

Is DAW the same item, just with a higher price or have they changed the shifter & brake? A 450.00 increase - holy sh*t. Maybe I will get lucky and for 08, ECA will come with deviating stitching. I like it better than DAD but was getting DAD due to stitching.
Thanks for your input.
