Damn. $92k invoice on the GT3, and $107k invoice on the turbo.

I love it when you get the dealerships down a few grand off a new car MSRP and they start telling you that they aren't making any money.

Yeah they make it sound like because they sold the car for under msrp that they're children won't go to college, they won't be able to make the mortgage this month, and because they lost that money someone sodomized their entire family.

Even though there is no listing for the GT3RS which has an MSRP of $123,200 US, so the invoice will be about 15K less (based on GT3 pricing), which makes dealer cost about $108,200 US, I wonder how those GT3RS buyers who paid $175-200K feel about their "friendly, accomodating, good guy" dealers now?

A crying shame really!

Actuallly what the dealer buys the car for is at least $2000 below invoice and def. could be more! It's something the customer would never know They also get kickbacks from the Porsche when a customer uses PCNA financing or leasing. A deal is a deal when the car is sold for at least 10% over cost which is can be in most cases a few hundred below invoice! Don't listen to anything the salesman says; they are all *******s! No matter how ridiculous a deal is, they are always making money! Porsche happens to be a company with some of the largest markups!

i used to be a used car salesman(sold everything from kia to porsche), and this is true. but damn, that's just rape. we usually ask for about $3,000 to $4,000 over the cost of the car(depends on the car also), and usually a customer can talk us down to about $1,500 over the cost of the car if they finance(kickback from banks, like stated).

but damn, these msrp prices are just rape. thanks for the info.

Such a load of !@#$ on that pricing everything is exactly 87.3% off the sales price, no company that I know of in the world has exactly the same over head on every ingle product.

Wow, there's a bout a $10K markup on all Porsche's! I wonder if anyone has been able to negotiate a deal that was $1000-$1500 over invoice? I bet it's possible if it was for a car that was sitting on the dealerships lot.

This is happening as we speak to a board member, he's around $9K off of MSRP right now on a 4S coupe that's "on the lot", probably gonna pull the trigger fairly soon. Of course 9K off MSRP and 9K off base MSRP are two totally different things, but the car is very lightly optioned. He'll let the cat out of the bag once he picks it up.

Read a post here which provided direct claims that Porsche makes an average $30K per car they sell. Now that's bank!

I'm very interested to see the end result. I worked out the lease for a lightly optioned 997S , and if you were $1,500 over invoice, the Lease would be $1,060/month! (36 mnths/10K miles)
