This shows what happens when you don't respect the power of these cars - "Sad Story"

I posted this as a post to another thread, but thought it should be it's own thread. To all new Porsche Drivers, this shows why Drivers School is so important and the need to respect the power of a Turbo.
This was a 2007 Turbo owned by a local businessman. Only had a few weeks - his first Porsche. Article says 2006 but was a 2007.

A short film clip with pictures of the car. You have to wade through the ad first.

Damn RIP...

Man I read the news article and saw the video. Very tragic. May they rest in peace.

The road they showed didn't look like it was too dangerous. Only the man above and those two will really ever know what happened.

I drive the road frequently and it is very curvy.

I know how this can happen....... I just bought mine and one of the first things I did was a few high speed passes.

A real eye opener for me.

The left a "party"... perhaps they had some beer at said party?... they died in a car... it could have been any car but it happened to be a porsche. It is sad though...

skiboard06 Jul 23, 2007 01:59 PM

sad to see.

gmoney Jul 23, 2007 03:31 PM

It was his kids b-day party. Cold temps, cold tires, too much speed. Ive you've driven throughout the Pittsburgh area you know the roads are not high speed friendly and limits are posted accordingly.

PSM off perhaps?

ALPINE_997 Jul 23, 2007 04:07 PM

Sometimes unfortunately you cannot define the law of physics and high speed mass.

pilone Jul 24, 2007 04:32 AM

PSM on or not doesn't matter, electronics adds even if iper-updated, can't substitute the pilot. RIP guys.

Accidents happen in every car. If you drive under the influence it's not about respect for the power of the car anymore. It's about respect for human life.
