New SAAB 9-3 Aero XWD beats 997 Turbo
SAAB is best...according to SAAB!
When SAAB launched their all new SAAB 9-3 Aero XWD (new Haldex system) they benchmarked it against a few cars.
One of them was the new Porsche 997 Turbo.
Below you can see the results
Tid = Time in seconds
Sluthastighet = end speed (km/h)
Entry speed: 40 km/h

"We are also proud to announce that our 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine now sounds better than a Challenge Stradale, thanks to Variable Exhaust Tone Generator™, spokesperson Anders Tysk says."
He continues: "We like to think that, inspite of the fact that our current fleet consists of re-badged Subarus and that we haven't come up with anyhing of our own since 1996, and that we still think the Saab Sonett is the benchmark of the sports car world today, we are now in the same league as Lamborghini, Porsche and Ferrari."
Somebody bring this man down down from his high horse and hand him a reality pill before Sweden becomes the laughing stock of the entire world, please.

If this is for snow or wet surfaces, I would not be surprised. Wider tires have less traction on slick surfaces

So if I want to go around cones the fastest....I have to buy a Saab.
If I want to go fast in a Car and Driver test....I have to buy an Audi.
If I want to go fast while in plastic....I have to buy a Corvette.
If I want to own the benchmark to which all other cars are compared....I have to buy the 997TT.

$hit, I just talked to my trusted Saab dealer to get on the list. They are asking $50,000 over sticker now. And only sell to long standing customers that have bought more than five cars in the past two years.
So it must be true. $5 Saabs handle better than $130,000 Porsches.
