The Only Way to Describe Fabspeed Quiet....

I must be getting old, I wouldn’t want mine any louder. You hear me coming down the street, I just don't have to hear me <O

Thanks, Stephen/Moogle. Is there a relationship between loudness and possible performance gains such as throttle response & turbo's faster spooling-up?

The factory PSE (if and when available, that is) does NOT do any of this, right? It alters the sound by a different mechanism? Thanks.

The PSE opens a bypass valve that allows more free flow in the exhaust, on an NA car this may lower low end torque/hq but midrange/upper range power will increase slightly, since the PSE (without hacking it) only opens at higher RPMs, it effects the car in a positive manner.
Per porsche's official figures, PSE does not add power, although it should help slightly since it is dynamic. Not sure if anyone has dynoed broken in cars to compare.
Tom,
Thanks. There is rumor of PSE for turbo; but knowing what I know now, I would probably go after-market if/when the time comes. Exhaust mod is not an easy decision: Hard or near impossible to get real life "samples," let alone real time comparisons of competing systems. In addition, what's loud for one person might be whisper quiet for another!
IF performance gain alone is what I am looking for, NOT a louder sound, what system would you recommend please? I imagine Fabspeed Quiet would be on top of the list? TIA.

i believe treynor swapped out a fs quiet system for milltek as his wife found fs-quiet too loud.
Europipe made an excellent exhaust that was the defacto choice for the 996TT, I haven't been keeping up enough to know if they have a 997 one available, but that would be my first choice, their build quality is second to none, even better than Fabspeed's already amazing work.
