I don't really care for the stockers, but what I would like to ask is how many of the TT-wheel-lovers would have bought those wheels if they were aftermarket? Say the TT didn't come with any wheels at all and the TT wheels were a relatively affordable aftermarket wheel. Would you have bought them over all the others out there?

I'm not crazy about the stocks, but they are part of the TT's identity, plus I do think they look a lot better in person as opposed to photos. I plan to get some aftermarket wheels and a set of track tyres, then swap 'em around, both wheels and tyres, and see what combo I like best.

Having said that, I give the designers of those wheels a score of 4 out of 10 for aesthetics and 9 out of 10 for originality.

They are light, forged, strong BBS wheels....I see no good reason to change them.

From the response given, and I LOVE the stock wheels , keep them. Agreed pain in the butt with the TPMS (FIRST HAND BAD EXPERIENCE), dealer/resale prefer stock, and the wheel is gorgeous! I have already gotten so many compliments on stock, esp black car...keep em!

I like the stocks on a model OTHER than the 997TT.

I really do think that the GT3 RS fits the "profile/character" of the 997TT better.

Forged is great...but they aren't exactly light. Champion makes some forged wheels (GP7 for example) that weigh about 85 lbs for all 4 wheels. For comparison, the TT wheels are about 105 lbs, the GT3 cast wheels about 110 lbs and the Carrera S cast wheels about 100 lbs.

I like the stock wheels, as Chris said forged and BBS, what's not to like? I think they really look good with Meteor, looks like I had them color matched to the car .
if I was going to do an aftermarket wheel it would have to be from somebody who races their wheels. They would have to be forged, light and non-bling. That narrows it to BBS, Champion, OZ Racing, Fikse. I used to consider Kinesis high quality, but since being taken over by a bling company they are in the junk category.

The Kinesis F110s are still made in the same Japanese plant as Champions and the GP7's (8000lb cold forged)

I can't tell you how hard it was for me to find aftermarket wheels that I liked. They had to be 19", forged, lighter than stock, and no chrome/polsih, and no big lip - just too bling for me.

I went with champion RF67 and I should have them by early next week. I just hung up with Jesse at Champion and he told me that my "persuading" was the sole cause for champion to go ahead and make these wheels in 19" LOL! I should have one of the 1st sets in the country.

That is true. At one point in my saga champion had decided NOT to do the RF 67 in 19". I was most likely going to go with the kinesis as my research told me they were still being made with the same quality regardless of being owned by that bling company. Even though I don't like lips they were the least "offensive" or blingy looking that I could find.

Well ok then maybe they're not completely in the junk pile. But I still wouldn't buy them, only a matter of time until you see Kinesis spinners

What are the sizes (widths and offsets) for the 19 inch RF67's?

yes and if i remember correctly, the offset were +53mm frt and +44mm rear. they will fit perfectly and fill out the wheelwells. there are no clearance problems even if you lower your tt.

edit: i forgot to add my comments about the stock wheels.

technically it's a great wheel but what the heck were the designers thinking???
it is too busy for the lines of the 997tt and looks like something from an late 1990 or early 2000 camaro or grand-am.
