If your going with the "blacked out" leather look (like myself) you want the least amount of aluminum showing....go for DAD. If you like the aluminum accents ECA should be fine. I stopped short of a full black interior by not selecting the PCM in black leather and black leather seat backs. I also did not get leather packages B and C (involve leather odds and ends that are not necessary for me). My reasons were $2200 for PCM option is ridiculous and my neices would eventually do a number on the leather back seats with their shoes. Keep in mind that leather is a lot more delicate and requires a lot of TLC to keep it looking new (hint: stay clear of any conditioners that are shiny or greasy). I simple use Griots interior cleaner and every 6 months or so Porsches leather conditioner. The quality of the leather on the turbo is top notch (better than my 997S) and keeping it that way takes some know how and trial and error using a lot of different products (lexol being the worst)! Adding deviating stitching to the picture (especially white) is a literal nightmare to maintain down the road IMO. How do you keep the white stitch from absorbing the leather dye from the seats when you try and clean them both? Makes for tricky maintenience down the road. Of course when new it all looks super so if you change your cars every 2 years it makes no difference.

That's easy! The ECA shifter has those carved slots, so there is less aluminum. But the material in both shifters isn't aluminum at all, rather it's unobtanium making the price difference totally understandable.

I'm sorry and I know this a way off the subject, but can anyone tell me if 997 manual shifters will fit on a 996?
