Lower front painted spoiler, wrecked.
You guys must not be driving careful enough. the turbo is not that low stock to rub and do so much damage to the lip unless you pull into a parking lot without slowing down. You gotta pull in and let the car roll and go on an angle. The painted lip is worth every penny on the Turbo, the black looks so cheap to me.
The problem is that you don't have five minutes to turn and angle on a 50 mph with ten people doing 70 behind you. I never scrape on my driveway, but I'll take the scuffed lip over getting rear ended on the street. People just aren't expecting you to take so long to pull in somewhere.
Go with basic black if you scrape. My favorite fun backroad (Redwood Road) has several where you scrape if you're driving 6/10 or higher.
I just bought new one from dealer (about $175 I think) and installed in 10 mins.

If you add some 3M barrier film over the front after the paint cures you will get almost no paint on the front "popping off" from the flex. Unless you hammer it bad you can take a razor to reduce the little black "wiskers" and then touch it up. Be careful ...

Good one - Maybe this is a problem a MIT grad could solve.
I have never seen a dip in the road going 70 where i had to slow to 50 to help avoid it. At that speed i dont think there is much anyone can do. Most people scrape on enterances or parking curbs. I have had lower car then my GT3 and the TT and never once put a scrape on the bumper. You should have seen the parking lots i pulled into with my GT3, you would never think it can get into it. But for those who can careless and don't feel like being careful, i suppose a black lip is ok since it will look bad black or the painted will look bad scraped.
I'm exaggerating about the speeds. You have the same deal in Miami that I do in Tampa. Most of the main drags are around 40-50 mph. Due to drainage, a lot of the entrances to the parking lots off the road are higher than the main road itself. If I'm not careful, I scrape quite a bit. I can get away with it if there's no traffic. However, if there are cars behind me, I often do a sacrificial scrape to avoid being rear ended. Most people behind you are timing your turn and won't be prepared for you to slow, stop, angle the car, and then slowly pull in. You're asking for some 16 year old girl text messaging on her sidekick to torpedo you. I'm not sure where you GT3 ride height is set. Maybe mine is lower. The black is so much more lower maintenance. Not to mention every painted lip I've had on other cars always seems to get eaten up by road debris on the highway. Much more so than the rest of the bumper.
My thought is buy an extra, paint it as well, keep some white touch up and a razor to clean up the small black plastic when you scrape , I dont think you would like an all black front lip and of course angle your approach
My dealer took care of this fast for me. I called Porsche of Huntington (a site sponsor) on Monday and told Russ I needed a new one and painted by this weekend for a local PCA concours. He called me on Tuesday to tell me they finished it and it is ready for pick up! Now that is FAST service!
One question, how do I install it? I can get the sides to slide out. I can't get the front part out. What is the trick?

Sort of. I had to struggle with it a bit for the side clips to release. When I first tried to muscle it off, the rest of the bumper flexed a bunch and I feared tearing the clips and/or tweaking the bumper cover.
Once the sides are loose, its a breeze.
