used 997tt are selling in the $110-$125k range. wholesale values of 996tt are shown below but it's likely you are looking at a difference of at least $50k.
there are plenty of loan and lease calculators on the web if you are looking for a ballpark range of your payment options.
wholesale values (from feb 07)
02 Turbo $54500 to $58500
03 Turbo $56500 to $66500
03 GT2 $95500 to $99500
the 997tt will continue to depreciate as they age, as supply increases and with subsequent changes (new models or mid-life changes). your 996tt is on a slower depreciation path so you will gain from waiting a year or so.
if you are looking to upgrade, i would wait for supply to free up as 24 month leases expire or for MY2009 changes which will have a minor restyle and direct injection. the tendency of the luxury car buyer (the sports car zealot will hang on longer) is to upgrade to the latest or make frequent changes to their fleet of toys.
