Well, to play devil's advocate, I do have to mention 2 things. Yes RUF upgrades are very pricey, but you do get warranty coverage by them...2 years I think. In addition, when it comes time to sell you car, most RUF modified conversions retain some value...GIAC/EVOMS, etc. mods rarely bring back $$, more importantly, they may drop the value of the car.

I could see the 550 for 25K, and maybe the 600 for 40K. But the rest is out of control.

I think a RT12 is much more than 240K.

Personally I would rather buy a used car modded by RUF rather than a car modded by other tuners. The name RUF is synonymous with Porsche. When I think of RUF I think of AMG or BMW M division.

Ruf is an amazing car company but those prices are ridiculous. I'd pay 120k for a full job including cosmetic and a Ruf vin if possible. but not for just a performance upgrade

You're right - I have a year old price list and the base RT12, 3.8l, 2WD, 6 speed for the US was 233K euro - at 1.4 that's $326K - then add some options and you're probably north of $375K...and that's assuming the October 2006 pricelist hasn't changed.

The 650 kit is the same engine that goes in the RT12, its alot more than turbochargers, exhaust, and ECU.

The 650 kit is essentially a complete engine rebuild that gets new cylinder sleaves so you have a 3.8 ltr motor, in addition to titanium connecting rods, and cams to name a few.

understood, but 120K?

What does a complete crate TT motor cost from Porsche?? Just to put it in perspective.

Somehow getting an RT12 in a 997tt body does make the price more palatable

Correct me if I am wrong but the upgrade to 650 for the 996 turbo was 100K, why is it more to upgrade the 997?

More flaws to correct on the stock 997TT.

RUF is sweet, but expensive.

My guess is that 100k (old dollars) is not worth the same anymore
The Dollar is down the drain compared to the Euro, I guess that is the explanation for the 25% jump

Looks like RUF does not subsidize like Porsche does

The EVT stuff is a steal for that price comparatively. You should have a showdown w/ ruf.
