GMG 997 WC-GT2 Sport Exhaust System in Titanium!!

Gentlemen,

We were one of the first tuners in the world (1st tuner in the USA) to develop a complete ( not just engine upgrade) performance package for the 997GT2 over 5 months ago.

We are pleased to announce another first.

We are introducing our GMG World Challenge 997 WC-GT2 Sport exhaust sytem in Titanium.

The system saves an additional 8 lbs over the stock system (our center section only weighs 3.8 lbs)

Power increase is the same as with our standard stainless system.

Additionally we are working on Ti exhaust tips to save additional weight and offer a unique look for these vehicles.

For 997 Turbo owners who want to upgrade to a GT2 rear look we have an exhaust and oem bumper package available- please contact me for details.

Here are a few pictures of the GMG 997 WC-GT2 Titanium System.

We are currently taking order on these systems.

Enjoy..........

Please contact me directly for more information or to place your order.

More information can be found on our website

Aren't the factory tips already made of titanium?

Also, how does Ti compare to Inconel, which is what F1 exhausts use, a la Quicksilver?

Is your Ti system welded underwater to minimize the possibility of cracking under extreme heat?

Stock tips are not Ti on a 997 GT2...... They are stainless the center muffler is only Ti in the new cars.

As you know Ti stands up to heat better than Inconnel and has is much more durable than Inconnel in exhaust applications.

We also run Inconnel headers and exhaust systems on our World Challenge cars and while they are great they have a service life of about 1 season.

It would not make any sense to offer this for a street car.

In terms of the welding process the systems are welded in chamber to ensure a proper bond between the materials with no chance of contamination. We have had no issue with cracking on the systems hence the "true" double slip fit design for heat expansion.

I have this system on our 997 Turbo currently - the sound is the same as the standard stainless World Challenge 997TT system.

Feel free to stop by and check it out at anytime. Also the car is usually at Cars and Coffee on weekends.

Looks intresting but I don't 'get' the design. The cross section looks great but won't it slow down the rate at which gasses flow? I think, the exhaust gases comming from different directions "slamming into eachother" would increase backpressure, increase spool-up time and downgrade performance.

Please explain where my logic fails.

Kind regards

Roller,

Thanks for the question:

The cross over design is a proven performance enhancement not only for Porsche but virtually any other car it has been utilized in motorsports for many years.

Our center section has been optimized for the engine displacement and exhaust flow. The cross over section allows for scavenging of the exhaust and equalizes the exhaust pulse. This speeds up exhaust velocity and virtually eliminates exhaust drone. This imporving performance of the system.

Hope that helps clarify some of your questions- feel free to drop me a line if you have any further question.

Just wanted to verify weight savings of 8 lbs over stock exhaust? If correct, it doesn't seem like much of an advantage, especially for the price. There must be a significant amount of SS that is still present in the materials.

TTDude

Thanks for the feedback.

8 lbs on a Ti system is pretty signifigant... When considering what you are working with as the stock system (center piece) is made of Ti and the rest of the system is stainless.

Additionally a nice HP increae is worth the price of admission!

Our clients have been extremely happy with the performance and reliability of our system...

As you are aware a Ti system for these cars is not in-expensive by any means and we are one of the only manufactures that offers Ti system for this car.. In fact our Ti system is not any more expensive than most other reputable tuners stainless versions..

Again thanks for the feedback always appreciated.
