philips drl light?

I have been reading alot about the speedart drl lights and considering getting them. But has anyone considered or is it even possible to leave the philips halogen white bulb as a drl instead? I think just having a single white light on turn signals looks nice also.

that is exactly what i have at my car...Six white leds positioned where turn lights were that function as DRLs and one white (or yellow it takes one minute to switch) led for turn light, positioned where philips bulb was...

Its doable...however you will need to to pass 2 wires into the front luggage area...not an easy DIY job...

There has to be a way to deal with the housing on a production level. The swapping of the bulbs is nothing and should cost 100-200 (each of these led bulbs IS expensive...dont be fooled)

I cant price it. I figure as the core could be worthless (very hard to split open) cost could be 500 plus 200 plus labor plus profit... If the core was exchangeable, should be in the 400-500 region. If not...

I do LOVE the mod, would do it in an instant. Perhaps fvd in Europe makes sense. Milou thats plus vat yes? γ... τον ΦΠΑ μου!!!
Dianic,

could you give us some more info on the LED lights you have on the rear of your 997 MK1 turbo? I am very interested in swapping to LEDlights without having to do the expensive conversion to the MK2 bumper and LED kit.

cheers

are these units you are testing in the video going to be retrofit into the oem signal housing or are you planning to intergrate these into the front bumper grill and leave the oem indicators in place as is?

I know it's only been a week but any new updates? Is this preferable to using converting fogs to DRL similar to 2010+ turbo's?

Yes this is a OEM replacement.

We are looking at 45 days before production finishes.
