Is there really a 997 update next year?

If this is too close to my 998 thread please feel free to close/dump it.

I heard originally that the 998 was due, but there is no info. Then I hear the 997 is getting an update next model year (2009). Does anyone know if this is true?

If so it would behoove me to wait about a year to get my P car (oh the pain it would be).

09's are suppose to get a updated front and rear fascia along with LED taillamps. The DFI and DSG are potential updates but not confirmed yet. The 998's probably won't be out until 2011 or 12.

IslandMD615 is infamous around these parts
-The new 911 im 99% sure is gonna be called a 991.
-The german rennteamers are sayin that porsche has set contracts with other companies to keep supplying parts for the 997 until 2011.
-With that, I say wait for the facelift because its going to have LEDs and major internal changes like DI, HP bump, and a double clutch gearbox which is probably being developed also for the 991. jus my humble opinion.

Thanks for the info. An update unfortunatly make it more prudent for me to wait until next year to get my car so I can get the update or save on the current one.

Buy it now, look for an 07 with a great discount amazing deals are to be had. Then it won't sting when you buy the new model or perhaps you can wait a year into the new model and get a discount on that one as well...life's too short, get what you want now.

I agree - you'll find yourself waiting for the next most important change whatever that might be.
