2005 997 issues?

I am a first time Porsche buyer and am looking at 2005 997 vs a 2003 C4S. I am always worried about a first year model. Does anyone know if there were any issues with the 2005 997? Thanks!

Nothing mayor that I am aware of .
It was rated best car of the Year by J.D.Power in 2005 .

Mine just started smoking out of the exhaust for no apparent reason...

Had my '05 for 34K miles and the issues (all covered by warranty) were:
Replaced alternator
Center climate control air vents replaced due to broken plastic clips that control the direction of the air into the cabin.
Creaking sounds in rear window area.
Squeeky clutch pedal.
