What car cover are you using?

I'll advise you first, this is a lengthy read about my experience with car covers! I picked up my outdoor cover from porsche last weekend, after looking and feeling the inside material I felt it was a better idea to also get a custom indoor cover with a nice soft material to prevent any scratches or swirls and put the outdoor on top of it if I was going away for the weekend. I ordered one from California car cover company (plushweave). It was very soft inside (what I was looking for), but after looking at the fit, and by bill, it stated '01 and up. In my eyes when the cover is touching the ground on both sides its too big, and also has the ability to pick up debri from the ground and scratch the paint. After speaking to a rep., its the same one used from '01. One was never made specifically for the 997.

As for porsche's car cover (outdoor) it has a nifty built in holding case. Then I realized how nice it would be to have the zipper dragged across the paint while trying to install, or while the wind is blowing when not using a cover underneath. Now I realize that I need a shoe horn to get it to fit. I pull off the indoor cover, try to re-install the porsche outdoor cover, still need a shoe horn to get it to fit over the 997. If the rear view mirrors didn't have any movement in them, this cover would never fit! By the time I got it on, being carful not to let the zipper scratch, I worked up a sweat and had a few choice words for the designer! I have to admit, there are some good ideas in it, not to mention the huge emblem on the hood (the best part)! But it is extremelly tight!

Sorry, needed to vent! So I'm back at square one again. Let me say first that I know I'm a pain in the @%$, very picky, not to mention ****. Between the last 2 weekends I spent a total of 12 hours detailing the car, just something that puts my mind at rest, something I've been doing since I was 16. My 997s is garage keep, but I do like to have a cover on it. I figured having the porsche outdoor and the indoor for the garage would be my answer. No possibilty of using both together (one on top of the other) like I had planned if I was away for the weekend.

So what are you using for a cover, how is the fit, and quality, and most important where can I get it! If I'm being to **** please tell me! I've heard it more than a handful of times today by my neighbors!

2 covers i prefer

i have a noah material cover and a soft stretchy spandex, with furry stuff on the inside for inside.

both were purchased from california carcover and are great..

i also have them for my masearti's and bikes.. all from the same place.

i had a problem with one of them a while ago and ccc replaced it with no questions asked.. it was awesome.. they didnt even ask me to send it back..

good luck

c

I'm using the oem car cover, but as you note, it's not very soft.

i use the old blanket that i've had since i was 4 years old. yes, i finally gave it up for my pcar. =) it looks a bit ugly, but it's sooo soft and comfy! okay, really, i use the porsche one. i just drape it over. i don't use the cord to tighten it. it seems to stay on fine without it.

geez, i am as bad as linus from charlie brown!
