Thanks everyone for the fun! I am moving on and traded in the 911
Hey,
Well its been a rollercoaster ride for me really. I went through a really shi%%y time trying to actually get my dream car and finally make the deal happen. I think 3 times it feel apart with me convinicing the credit union and seller to man up and complete the transaction. I think that was the start of my issues.
I fought too hard to get the car, which for me really killed the experience. I also had the car shipped from Utah, but instead of coming to me the seller insisted it went to a friend of his so I could trade my car there. That pissed me off something awful.
I picked up the car and immediately got upset with the condition it was in. Nothing like what was stated and I knew that I had a serious job in front of me.
I spent countless hours at Porsche, bodyshops(GT3 bumper-repainted hood bc of rock chips and ding in rear bumper-not disclosed to me), online forums and group meets to get what info and parts repaired, replaced and moddified. I spent around 10k and more in time considering what I did. This by the way was in 2 months. I then came to the allignment issue and suspension shift that got me to my last straw.
The straw that broke the camels back was a incident with my wheels. Someone sprayed acid on them to clean them and the pandora's box opened again. To fix themand make them perfect I would have to have them replaced, but the hassle was going to really get me irked since I already had sold the stock wheels....
I did not really want to deal with it. I had a wheel specialist look at them and they were buffed out and polished. They looked a lot better but would never be perfect till they were replaced. The person responsible was great and offered to do so.
But you see, i guess I got caught up so much in the chase and hassle of everything I did not ever have a chance to fall in love with my car. The ride had 28K miles on it and reality was telling me that 2 years from now without a CPO'd warranty the car would be at 60K miles and probably worth not a whole lot.( I knew this before I bought it but I just ignored it thinking the prize would overlap the means.)
I ended up trading it in for a Range Rover Sport SC. I have always loved that truck, but mainly I need something for my everyday-golf, trips and everything in the middle. The porsche was a great car but not great for my usuage.
So in short. There is a 997 porsche out there with a ton of mods on it, completely rescued from where it was and brought back to life and sadly let back on the streets. Its got every option on it and has been gone over with a fine tooth comb. The car has def. not been in any accident like I had thought it had been since about everything is original except what I replaced and fixed, clear car fax and paint metered. Even the windshield was original when I replaced it for cosmetic reasons.
I will be back in a few years but with a brand spanking new one(As a second car of course) from Orlando Porsche, whom I have to say are by far some of the best and stand up guys I have ever met. There sales, service and parts always took the time and always stood behind their work...Thanks Zemdog, Aaron, Bruce--V35, blackout, Antz, noRoomforError and everyone else!!!
Ps. Probably visit now and then--with drool and bucket ready to start dreaming again!

Congrats on the RR, awesome truck. It sucks you had such a bad experience. But I think the main reason was the ****ty seller who owned the car before you. I agree that the buying experience is part of the fun, but if u smell something is off from the start, it usually gets worse.
DUDE! i am really sad to see you go so soon! I understand just really wish it worked out for ya. I told you that C4S was you lol Good luck with the Range but I have a feeling you'll be knocking on our door reallllll soon : )

I am not sure exactly the issue here honestly. If the car was not presented to you in the condition decribed you should have made the seller take back or make whole and the same with the wheels. If the guy offered to fix and replace then I fail to see how this lessened your Porsche experience. And if you think there were issues with your 911 just wait...

Really i am with you bro. I know what you mean when the car wasn't like what was described to you. I went to PA to check out a 911 and i had a similare situation. I guess everyone has a different prespective when it comes to calling MINT. the bottom line is you are in a new car and you are happy, so that's great.
I was in Orlando on Sat Wizo and saw your car for sale. You wern't kidding when you saind it was clean. That car was set up nicely. I think I heard the guy tell someone they were asking 63K for it. I'm sure you are sad to see it go but hopefull you will be back with another Porsche again.... Millenia Motorsports had the car.. Seemed like good enough guys.
Hey, Yea millenia has the car. But there were things on the car that need attention and I just dont have the time or patience anymore. Not to mention there was more problems found when I traded her to them, so I was just upset and gave it away.
The range rover is really nice and for it counts, I will get a porsche again. It will be new but it also wont be my everyday car...
Thanks to everyone
