Pricing Help/Auction Price

I am looking to trade my 2006 997S and have been given a trade-in of $63000. Seems way low to me as is typical for dealers.

My question is what is a reasonable to price to list this car for private sale? I am not trying to take advantage of anyone just want to get a fair deal.
2006 997S, 8000 miles. Standard Leather, Sport Chrono, 19" Classics, Heated Seats, Multifunction wheel, Tint. No accidents. No mechanical probs.

Any info of current auction prices for similar car?

That is about right for a trade in price.

I guess I was expecting a higher trade in value maybe 65000 range. I have looked at what dealers in the area are listing similar cars for at resale. These range from 74000 to 83000. I realize that they are not going to get that price likely but they are still going to turn a hefty profit on a used car.

Any thoughts on a reasonable private party price to list the car for? My dealer will sell the car through his dealership so I can get the tax advantage.

Unfortunately that is about what you will get for the car....Its a shame when you trade in the value loss but its quick and easier than dealing with the hassle of selling.

I dont want to keep reliving the hit I took on my trade...I just did it and walked away

On the East Coast your trade value should be more like 66K (November Black Book). I would shop around if trading. Private Sale I would ask 70K and negotiate with whoever is serious.

Those are more like the numbers that I was thinking. True the dealer trade would be cleaner but my dealer is will to run the sale through his dealership so I get the tax advantage. In addition I think this protects me from having to deal with an individual buyer (ie taking a check, money order etc)
