Just curious, heard there were rumors of a power bump on S cars to 370s or 380 for the late '08 builds or for '09.

 

As I understand it, this is the estimate of the benefit (other than gas milage) to be gained by going to direct injection.

 

The 2008 order .pdf I just received shows an engine sports package for $16,900.00 which boost power to 381.

Don't know if this is the same as that to which has been referred here.

 

The 381 HP sounds like the X51 pkg which also is 381HP. Looks like no change in HP for the 08's

 

There is no change in HP for 08's but the 09's may be released in May for June delivery and are rumored to have DFI, a slightly upgraded interior, DSG new front and rear bumper caps w/ LED's...it will be interesting to see if there will also be an X51 for the DFI cars.

 

Also waiting to see if they'll offer a DFI retrofit for current X51 cars....

 

That would be nice but I seriously doubt that will happen as there is way too much involved.

 

And remember, it's Porsche we are talking about afterall Any chance they can get to make more money they'll take. Nothing against that, just stating.
