Eric,

Have a new 911 on the way... How much work is this to install? Im very good with electronics. Looks like it can all be done under the hood without fishing the wire through the firewall. C4S Cab w Nav is not coming with the disk player. Would I need to go back to the dealer to have the unit reprogrammed after install? Does the unit directly plug into the wiring where the CD player would have been. Any docs or tips would be appreciated.

Hey Eric,

I had the Dension for my old E46M3, and the 996TT. What makes this unit more than three times the cost of the previous? I've ordered parts from you in the past and have had great experiences, would love to do business again, please email me what I should expect regarding installation and how it is different than the older gen. icelinks.

thanks

pj - usually 2 hours is the standard, but some folks report less than an hour, others a bit longer. Dealer will likely need to program once unit is installed and updated, so the fiber optics identify it.

Kevin - no idea what you are referring to, but very likely your old E46 was copper, not fiber. The GW500 is a fiber optic based device, with list price in the $500+ range. As the primary US distributor, we are sometimes able to pass along some savings, therefore we sell it at $475, though right now at $449, a damn good bargain. It has nothing in common with any earlier models from Dension.

Hi i have a question for Eric (Plug Guy).
I have a C4S 997 and want to add ipod and blue tooth integration.
From what i read i can't decide what to install, can you help me out?
What is better: Dension + the bluetooth adaptor or NATTV ipod + tooki?
From what i've read, for ipod dension is better, and for bluetooth the tooki looks like it integrates perfectly.

Thanks
Martin
