It includes the tips...that's why the Borla is such a bargain.

Hey all, thanks for your continued interest in our 997 S exhaust system! As you already know, we released the standard 997 system and are very pleased with the tone & performance gains. We understand that other companies offer systems that fit both vehicles, but we wanted to build something specifically tailored to your 997 S. Not only do the engines (and sound) in the two cars differ, but while testing our 997 system on the S, we found the geometry was a slightly different. We designed our 997 system with that car in mind, now we’re doing the same for your S.
z2die4 was kind enough to lend us his ride so we could put our prototype on it. During part of our durability evaluation we street test prototype systems (this is after sound, dyno, & fit tests). We wanted to give him some time to live with it & put some miles on it. Most exhaust systems have a break-in period, and we wanted to make sure it still has a fierce growl, even after you’ve tamed the beast. Along with z2die4’s valuable feedback, we discovered there was a slight drone around 1800 rpms. As a result, we tuned it out and made a slight change to the muffler size & configuration.
Now we have the final working prototype. Our process then includes having the unit fully blueprinted, then first offering built and fit from Borla jig fixtures, and finally worked into our normal production schedule. It seems reasonable to predict production units should be rolling out of the plant in 4-6 weeks after the final working prototype gets the thumbs up.
Needless to say, we are very happy with the performance gains & tone. After 30 years of developing exhaust systems for the most discriminating of customers, we know that Porsche owners set a particularly high bar for craftsmanship, reliability, and performance. Ultimately, it will be up to each individual to make up their mind & decide. We stand proudly behind our product, knowing we’ve risen to the occasion.
Our doors are always open to you; call us at 1-877-GO BORLA, PM me, or email chrish@borla.com.
Thanks again for your ongoing support & enthusiasm!

update: Last prototype was too muffled, so back to the first prototype. The drone is ultra minor at a spot that I never really used. Rest of the time, the car sounds plain sick. This will be the production piece. Tubi sound @ half the price with good looking tips. If I had to sum up the unit in one word, I would say MEAN. When you rev, people move. You never have to highbeam anyone to get out of the way. Definetly gonna be worth the wait for anyone thats been on the fence.

6-8 weeks...before you can probably buy one. It's amazing I have been waiting for this exhaust for over a year now.
