do itunes smart playlists work on gateway 500?
I just installed a Dension GW 500 and find it to be working well (as expected). Regular playlists work fine, but it seems smart playlists created from itunes do not work through the Dension unit.
When I switch to a smart playlist, the adapter/stereo doesn't play anything even though the playlist selection screen lets me select it.. I've waited for several minutes in case it could have been a buffering issue but that didn't work either. When I disconnect the ipod from the car and listen with headphones, the smart playlist plays back fine.
Has anyone had luck with smart playlists and the Dension ipod adapter? I'm trying to keep up to date with podcasts by having them automatically added to a smart playlist as they update from their respective feeds.

I use smart playlists all the time and there is no reason why it shouldn't work if normal playlists do.
To the ipod/dension unit the smart playlist is no different than a normal playlist. A 'smart' playlist is just itunes generating it (not added manually) based on specific criteria (like add-date, genre, artist).
