Are there any differnces performance wise with 1 piece wheels versus 3 piece?? I'm looking at HRE & CHAMPION, leaning towards the HRE. Does anyone know a good resource for the best pricing on the HRE's?? Are they discounted at all??

 

Generally 1 piece wheels are lighter, as you have all the hardware associated with a 3 piece wheel. Good luck on finding discounts on HRE wheels.

A high quality 3 piece gives you some flexibility.....that may or may not be important to you. If you keep the car & wheels for a while, you will bend or break a something. I end up sending some wheels in (for repair) every year. You can easilly straighten an outer lip, replace an inner barrel, repaint a center, order most any custom offset, change outer lip to flat or stepped, etc.....flexibility.
Most of my wheels are custom painted or powder coated.....for me, that's been easier to do in pieces.....then assemble.
For the track.......I still use light one piece.
