1) What sat radio device?
2) How much is it?
3) How do I handle the antenna for the unit?
4) How does it integrate with the PCM?
5) What shows up on the screen and when?
6) How do I switch between FM and SIRIUS?
7) Does the PCM store stations like the regular radio?
dension sat
I am guessing Erik means that you will utilize the aux input as a way to get it into the pcm. I would not think that you would be able to choose stations thru the PCM it is just a way to input a non-MOST device into a MOSTsystem.
Yeah, that's what it sounds like he said. But the factory unit seems to have much better integration, from what I've heard from the good people at Manhattan Motor Cars!
Ok, so some specific questions.

you sure about that ? most AUX in port doesn't pass in any information to the pcm just saids aux input. I really double that it shows the station name and controllable from the PCM. That's just my opinion thou.
Already got it. In both my cars. And I got them from you!
I'll get the Tooki up and running next. Then I'll solve the SIRIUS. Then I'll post the details of what units I installed, how I've got them wired together and what the tricks are...

Eric, the way you are describing Sirius or XM incorporation into the Denison unit, you are making it sound like a fully incorporated SAT controller and not a simple "aux input". If it does indeed display channel info and allow you to change SAT channels using PCM in addition to complete iPod integration via PCM you have a done deal and I will order one as soon as I get confirmation of this. If we are talking about a separate RCA or 1/8" phono input where the sound can be integrated into the PCM system via the Denison unit and an external controller is needed to change channels and display programming info, then it is indeed "aux input" only and not a fully integrated SAT solution.
If the former, Denison would have to offer a XM specific or Sirius specific unit, one unit can not control both and that is a fact. Please confirm this info with Denison as I would definitely order one. This is what I meant when I said I was confused in my PM.
SAT module: (this box + antenna are the only parts you need and the Denison unit controls channels and displays info on the PCM screen)
vs.
SAT tuner (this main unit is required to change and display channel info but only the audio signal is input into PCM so it's a direct high quality signal path and an RF modulator or cassette adapter is not needed).
Sorry to beat a dead horse with a stick.... The info I saw above in the prev posts just did not make sense to me.
That's what I'm trying to avoid. I don't want ANY non-Porsche devices mounted visibly in my car.
First I hooked up the SAT by splicing into the existing CD changer power. I then replaced the CD changer with Dension unit using some of the extra cables that come with the unit. It is obviously critical to get the fiber connected in the correct direction.
In hooking up the SAT, the most time consuming part is replacing the GPS antenna (under the cowling) with the GPS / SAT antenna. There are many places to put the new antenna that other people have tried later in the thread, but at the time when I first read the thread, the only way stated was to remove the cowling and replace the existing antenna. In order to make it fit correctly I dremmeled the metal piece under the cowling (not a big deal because you don’t see it anyway)
I actually took about 15 minutes to get the SAT to play without putting it into its final secured place. I ended up velcroing it above the NAV unit. When I put in the dension unit, I removed the CD changer.
The Cayenne XM or Sirius work and install the same. The channels and all info show up on the PCM screen:
