Autocar testdrive 997s
UKs Autocar are the firstto drive and review the 997s in this weeks issue.
In summary in concludes that it is better than the 996 in all areas (bar 1..the steering which has variable ratio and is less direct than previous steering set ups),and that the performance claims of 4.8s to 60 etc seem conservative.It praises the grip (10% more than a 996) and ride ,it praises the quality of the interior .
It summarises as follows
'in 997s form the carrera is faster more stable,more precise,and forgiving-make that more efficient sports car than the 996.Still I suspect this anaethising of traditonal porsche traits-flaws if you must-will be missed by some porsche drivers.It is almost toogood,a genuine supercar at an unsupercar price,that retains allt he practicality that has made the 911 unique for over 40 years,and is capable of true greatness'
