yes commenting on my own post:)

Comments on making my 997 resemble a 993!
Excited about my new 05 997 but also love the style and look of the older 993 (turbos mostly).... I am hoping to maybe mod my car in a direction to resemble a 993.

I think his lip is on the right track...

Next I was hoping to get the best looking rear tail that may resemble a turbo 993.... any suggestions? Then the final for stage I of my quest would be the right rims.... really want 19's, so curious what peoples thoughts would be for the best wheel set up to again help me attain my goal of a 997 with some retro 993 looks! Turbo twists, RUF style, sprort techno's, others?

Curious of peoples thoughts.... I have always loved retro-resto-mod cars.....older cars that have been updated with todays technology but still have the charm and retain some of their great traits they originally had...not exactly what I am doing here but I guess somewhat related..... trying to get my 997 to look a bit more like a 993...

Thanks all

That side skift is truly fugly. This has nothing to do w your question either but I thought I'd share that with you Did you google Hamman? Not my favorite. Get a copy of Excellence mag and thumb through the ads. Beaucoup stuff out there.

I do know what you mean. I don't think you can solve the problem w bolt on stuff. The long front overhang for the radiators and the higher, rounded rear haunches and roofline change the car's looks and not for the better imo. The vertical headlights and shorter front hatch are more 'classic' as well. Today I was wondering whether a change to 18" wheels would'nt be an improvement, the 19''s seeming too big at times. All this goes away from the drivers seat thank goodness

agreed....

Noy a huge fan of the side skirts as well, agreed, but that lip is the closest I have seen to resembling the older 993 T styles.... its a bit steap at $1225, at least I think for just a lip, unpainted and without install costs etc.... just thinking this lip, a nice paid of maybe RUF style rims on seal greay could be slick! At least I am hoping...
