For those with 20" wheels, need feedback.
Ben, thanks for keeping the faith in the 20's!
I'm sure Ian was generalizing about big wheels in general, which I myself, can't stand (e.g. I hate seeing those Chrysler 300's on 26's!).
I love the look of 20 inch wheels on the 997, but I'd be lying to say that I wasn't bothered by some of the loss (even if it is ever so slight and minor) of performance.
I think Alpine summarized it pretty well regarding the different sizes. My car is no longer on the sportier "more go" side of the 997's since the ride height is too low, the body kit/pieces have added extra weight, and the wheels are bigger. Even without lowering, something about spending the big buck$ I did on them just causes me to drive slower and more carefully anyway.
Again, 19's are the best compromise if you still want to drive your car hard and not feel too bad about the abuse and performance gains/losses.

Thanks Ian!
I think the true strength of the Carrera line is the ability of the owner to truly customize it. It's so easy for us to go one direction and lighten the car, get x51 or other engine mods, and get some coilovers.
On the other hand, you could get bigger wheels, a body kit, lowering springs, and a lot of interior comforts (aftermarket stereo, bluetooth, etc.).
In the end, we all have our opinions about our cars and what they should be like. Its nice to have options (too bad they all cost an arm and a leg!). Its for this reason alone I like coming to this forum and seeing all the variations of mods on the 997.
With all that being said, I still like my 20's and wouldn't trade them in for 19's (unless I'm at another autocross or track event
)

Ben, you're a man of conviction! You say it loud so others don't have to.
That being said, I should stop being so nice about ****! JK
!
You get that new wing put on yet?
