Question on Adjusting Carrera S Headlights
Question on Adjusting Carrera S Headlights
I have a MY 08 C2S with the factory Bi-Xenon headlights that are "self leveling". The low beams are factory set just fine, however I notice when I turn on the hi beams they certainly "seem" to be pointing up too high and illuminating the trees, but this is the first car I have owned with such a sophisicated headlight system.
I want to pose two questions to the group.
1. Are the high beams adjustable independently of the low beams, or are they following a setting based on that of the low beams?
2. If they are truly self leveling, are they even adjustable at all, whether it be just the low beam as "self leveling" or both beam settings have that feature?

Mine show a sharp cutoff up top with a tendency to "float" as the leveling mechanism hunts around. I have never had the sense that they were too high. The area of illumination does seem larger than a standard halogen setup, but mostly to the sides. However the system adjusts, it is surely a dealer problem.

I thought that bi-xenons essentially have one bulb, therefore the leveling is not different between low and high. When the high is engaged, it releases a slide that allows the full brightness to be seen and therefore will give a more distant and higher lighting effect? The second lamp seen in many light assemblies are the halogen passing beams.
