update on the repair done to my car.
I dropped by today hoping to see the car almost completed. I dropped the car off on 2/19. To my surprise the car was in the same spot and same shape as when I last saw it on monday. I cant begin to describe how frustrated I am. Going over the allocated 5 days the insurance company gave them was ok, but 4+ weeks? All they had to do was replace and paint the fender and bumper. They really didnt have to do any body work repair.

Oh and the key is stuck in the ignition, is that a safety feature from porshce when the battery is dead or disconnected or did they get my key stuck?
I tried to pull the key out and it wouldnt budge. I played with the steering wheel moving it left/right and still nothing. I checked the battery and it was connected but no power. DO you guys know if this is normal?

They also said that they sprayed everything, even the hood, but when I looked at it all the swirls, marring, and scratches were still on the hood. I'm not expert but isnt that suppose to be gone if the hood has been re-sprayed?

I'm at the point where I just want to pay them for the work they did and take the car somewhere else. Do you guys think that is possible?

I'm an idiot for not trusting my gut feeling and taking it to one of the 3 shops I looked at.

thanks for listening to me vent.

should have just sold or traded in the car as is. would have saved me time, trouble, and stress..

damn i should have sold the car after the incident and saved myself time, money and added stess...

sorry to hear about these issues. but.. if the car has not moved in a few days and swirl marks are still on the hood.. your shop is lying to you. i'd make them an ultimatim. have them select a complete date.. or you take your car now. i hate dealing with dead beat lying shops like that.

re

hes definitely a good salesman.. he made it sound so good when i interviewed the 3 shops i visited. a case of too good to be true when he answered and agreed to all my questions and request. he even said he has done many porsche before. I think the shop had trouble removing some of the panels and clips. I just hope once its assembled that we dont come acreoss a few extra parts/screws/clips.

To his credit the bumper and fender has been painted. I just dont think they did the blending of the other fender, hood and door like he said.

I will talk to them tomorrow but I hate confrontations, i'm **** and pretty pessimistic but hate to make a big deal about things..

I just had the aerokit wing/bumper painted and installed and repainted my front fenders and hood .. Dropped it off on Saturday and it was finished by Wednesday. It should not take that long for installing the pieces.

There is a little plastic piece in the keyhole, pop it open and insert a paperclip .. that will allow you to get the key out. FWIW, when my battery died, after giving it juice (through the fusebox) I could only open the hood with my key (not the actual hood button). Only after I jumped the car I could use the physical button on the door sill.. found that a bit weird.
