Paint or powder coat for wheels?
I'm considering painting or powder coating my wheels, what do you recommend? I had originally wanted to powder coat, but I was wondering if the baking process (@ 400 deg. f) has any effect on the aluminum. Any advice would be great.
Also, who would you recommend in the tri-state area?

oem porsche wheels are painted and cleared. i had my hre wheels powercoated on my m3 before.. and the finish will be very thick and rough. unless your after the "i need to be clear coated and buffed out look" i suggest just paint them. but, powder coating can with stand more rock chips.
Powdercoating is a stronger finish that will withstand more road hazards as stated by "daytonaviolet" you also can choose between gloss, semi gloss or flat finish. But to change the color in the future is much harder. While with painting you can always repaint whenever you like. Price wise they are almost the same.
