2008 Short Shifter question

When I bought my new 08 Targa the dealer told me that the short shifter option had changed a bit this year and the B&M no longer works as an aftermarket install. Sounded like BS, any truth to this? I installed the B&M in my 05 997s and would like to do the same in this one if its still works??

I do not believe that the dealer is correct.

I have the OEM SSK in my 2008 997S and the part number is exactly the same as it would be for a 2005, 2006 or 2007 car.

Dealer is full of crap. B&M, which we carry, works just fine in all 997 variants. But of course, the dealer would like to sell you a $500 shifter and install it for you too.

And yes, we still have it, $199 every day.

What is the option number when you order. NOT the part #.

Thanks
